The answer of Tathagat on non violence was :- “Whoever is punishable, must get that punishment. Whichever gift is worthy, must be given that gift only. Also, no one should be tortured, instead they should be treated with love and mercy. There should be no contradiction in words. Whoever suffers punishment for a crime, it is not due to the judge's punishment but is the result of his own action. The punishment given by the judge is the result of that crime.
