A fair distance is always good to have.
We would not survive had the Sun or the Moon been closer than it is despite our love for it.
Even an embryo needs some distance and that it gets from the umbilical cord which feeds it but not the crude food which is eaten by its mother.
Art is a manifestation of communication between the creator and its creature. Had there been no distance between the two, there wouldn't have been any philosophy to wrap our heads around.
A decent distance from the one you love or rever is always welcome as it'd make you oblivious of the rough edges in that person, or if you do notice those edges it'd look adorable to you.
