Winds of fortune
Forty years this man worked
Always pushing to the limit
Slaving to the grind daily
For his job he was committed
He was at his wits end recently
Living expenses had increased
His paycheque stayed the same
To say the least he was displeased
One day after a long day at work
He stopped to get some gas quick
The cashier handed him his change
He said one lotto ticket he picked
His hope had faded slowly away
Not in a million tries would he win
But soon he began scratching it
And after the last scratch he grinned
His smile stretched from ear to ear
A boisterous woo-hoo hoo came out
His card was the winner of a million
He laughed and cried and he did shout
His worries are all gone now from him
His truck , house, loan , debts are paid
His daughter can attend a good college
All because of a lottery ticket he played
