When I write When I sit down to write I block any distractions In my head is where I go My mind gives me traction It's like a movie in my brain I think lights, camera, action The light goes on up inside My thoughts go on random The camera, my imagination Visualizing words until I'm done The action is my trusty pen Writing and reading, I have fun When finished I read it over Then decide what should change Taking one word from a line Move it around, I re-arrange The end result may not be good So I'll forget it and turn the page When I am satisfied with one I check with friends for advice After they give me a thumbs up I look it over to be more precise Once it's completed I feel better I look again as it pleases my eyes ©Schizology

Why I like poetry I like poetry because Its universal Anyone can write Theres no rehearsal The words will take flight Poetry is eternal Written words last forever Recording a journal A lifetime of events to look back on Writing is internal From deep within our minds Poetry can be nocturnal Many writers come alive at night Poetry is verbal To hear someone recite is golden Poetry is wonderful A few lines can lift spirits up Writing is cultural Passed down from our ancestors Poetry is structural Forming lines that flow gracefully Poetry forms a circle Connecting all corners of earth ©Schizology
