(THE PANG OF A FORBIDDEN CHILD) ========================== "Congrats !! You're going to be a father again"- I heard this, mother was telling to my father. That day, I felt my existence for the first time. Yes, I'm an embryo now ! "A little brother is coming to our home & you'll play with him, take care of him" - they said to my sister affectionately. My sister was so happy with this news & so was I. When would these ten months pass & I'd be able to see this world ? I was desperately waiting for that day. Mother was being taken care by father & whenever she wanted to eat anything that was being brought, because her food was my nutrition. In between these; the first trimester had passed & I was in the second trimester, where I could feel my heart beating. My tiny fingers, toes & brain were in the developmental stage. So mother was taken to the hospital for checkup. An ultrasound was done & in a feeble tone my father asked the doctor about my gender. The doctor first shouted & hesitated to say but after being requested so much; he said, "She's is girl". I was overwhelmed with joy when I knew this because one day I could be a proud daughter, a future mother, someone's soulmate & things like that. Father brought mother, back to home. And after returning from the hospital, I noticed that the faces of my parents had turned pale. Mother didn't eat properly & so I didn't get sufficient nutrition as I was dependent only on her food. After a couple of days, mother was again taken to the doctor & laid on the operation table. Few minutes later, for the first time I felt as if my secure home turned to be the centre of a whirlwind. Just like the spices in a grinder jar, my limbs were first sliced and then reduced to pulp. Along with that my dream too was crushed. But still I was wondering what exactly was happening there ? Out of extreme pain finally my heartbeat stopped & after few moments I found myself in the dustbin, with a bundle of flesh and blood; devoid of dream, light & life. "But what was my fault" ? "Why was I killed" ? The questions still remained unanswered !

"But what was my fault" ? "Why was I killed" ? Is it just because I was a girl ?

Once a poet wrote a beautiful love poem & he made several copies of that. He sent that to his friends including both men & women, and also to a young woman whom he had met but once. That lady's village was in the mountains, few miles away from the poet's residence. The poem was well appreciated & within a couple of days a letter was sent to the poet by that woman saying, "Let me assure you, I'm deeply touched by the love song which you have written for me & in the passionate way you've shown your love. Come now & talk to my parents so that we can make arrangements for the betrothal." And the poet replied to the letter, "Don't be serious my friend, it was just a song of love out of a poet's heart which is sung by almost every man to every woman. Don't take it the other way." And for this she wrote again to him saying, "HYPOCRITE & LIAR in words !! From this day unto my coffin-day I shall hate all poets for your sake." - (Papu)
